Surface-mounted or built-on box — what is better?+

Surface-mounted is easier to retrofit (no masonry intervention) but visible from outside. Built-on box is integrated, invisible, but requires window replacement or special construction.

Can roller shutters be retrofitted?+

Yes — surface-mounted versions can be installed on any window. Typical installation time: 1 day for 4–6 windows.

Are smart drives expensive?+

Surcharge approx. €150–€300 per window vs. simple electric drive. Long-term it pays off through automation (e.g. summer heat protection, holiday simulation).

How long do roller shutters last?+

Slats: 25–40 years (aluminium more durable). Drives: 15–25 years. Repairs and replacement parts available long-term.
