Funding for outdoor surfaces

Paving and outdoor surfaces are usually not directly BEG-funded. Open-pored paving (rainwater drainage) can be funded by some municipalities.

Frequently asked questions about paving work

How long does paving a driveway take?+

Standard driveway (40–60 m²): 3–5 days incl. excavation, foundation, paving, jointing. Larger surfaces or natural stone proportionally longer.

Which materials are best?+

Concrete block (Schwerlast) is cost-effective and durable. Natural stone (e.g. granite, basalt) more expensive but premium look. Clinker is robust and frost-resistant.

Do paved surfaces need maintenance?+

Once a year remove weeds and renew joints. Every 10–15 years deep-clean and re-joint. Frost protection should not be damaged.

How much does a paved driveway cost?+

Concrete block: €80–€120/m² incl. foundation. Natural stone: €150–€250/m². Clinker: €120–€180/m². Plus excavation and disposal.
