Frequently asked questions about roofing work
When should a roof be renovated?+
After 30–50 years (depending on roofing). Signs: leaks, broken tiles, sagging insulation. Earlier renovation often pays off through energy savings.
How long does complete renovation take?+
Single-family house: 4–8 weeks (incl. insulation, weather-dependent). Scaffolding 1 week. Roof itself 3–6 weeks. Interior work afterwards.
Is permission required?+
For renovation of existing roof shape: mostly no. For dormers, roof extensions or shape changes: yes, building application required.
How much funding is available?+
BAFA BEG: 15% basic + 5% iSFP bonus = up to 20% of costs, max. €30,000 per residential unit per year. Combinable with proKlima.
