A heated living conservatory counts as an extension and requires a permit – the building authority of the Schaumburg district is responsible. Near the shore, additional requirements may apply. We clarify this in advance and help with the documents.
A freshening wind often blows in from the lake. Side glazing – fixed or as sliding elements – breaks the wind, keeps draughts off the terrace and noticeably extends the usable season. It also protects against driving rain from the side. We plan the glazing to suit the main wind direction on your plot and use laminated safety glass where protection is needed.
If you want to use it year-round, the heated living conservatory with insulation and thermal glass is right. For a sheltered, frost-free garden link from spring to autumn, a more affordable cold conservatory is often enough. If you only want weather, sun and wind protection for the lakeside terrace, an aluminium patio roof with a glass or louvre roof and optional side glazing is the slimmest solution.
