5 steps to window funding
- 1
Involve an energy efficiency expert (EEE)
BEG funding requires a registered energy efficiency expert (EEE). We coordinate the right EEE for your project.
- 2
File the application BEFORE awarding the contract
The BAFA application must be filed before you award the contract – otherwise funding is lost. Together with the EEE we ensure the correct order.
- 3
Choose eligible windows (Uw ≤ 0.95)
Only windows with a U-value of at most 0.95 W/(m²K) are eligible. We advise on suitable PVC, aluminium or wood-aluminium models.
- 4
Professional RAL-compliant installation
Professional installation also counts as an eligible cost. We fit to RAL standard – all from one source, including disposal of the old windows.
- 5
Submit proof & receive payment
After completion you submit the proof; BAFA pays out the subsidy. We provide all the documents needed for the installation.
Window funding in Garbsen – where it pays off the most
Garbsen is shaped by two worlds: the large residential estates of the 1960s and 70s in Auf der Horst and Berenbostel, and the established timber-framed village centres. It is precisely the concentrated multi-storey housing of those decades that has a high need for window renovation – single glazing and leaky frames cost noticeable heating energy today. Through the BAFA programme BEG EM (the German Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings – individual measures), the federal government funds the replacement with windows of a U-value (Uw) ≤ 0.95 at 15%, and with an individual renovation roadmap (iSFP) at up to 20% (with iSFP). So that no mistake jeopardises the grant, we coordinate the required energy efficiency expert (EEE) and make sure the application is in place before the contract is awarded. Our local presence in the Hannover region means short distances: fast on-site measuring and installation to RAL standard. The exact amount naturally remains subject to funding approval.

Frequently asked questions about funding
Through BAFA BEG EM, eligible costs are subsidised at 15%, and with an individual renovation roadmap (iSFP) at up to 20% (with iSFP). Eligible costs are up to €30,000 per residential unit per year (with iSFP up to €60,000) – which gives a maximum subsidy of €4,500 / with iSFP up to €12,000; for several units in the Garbsen residential complexes, correspondingly more. The exact amount is subject to funding approval.
Yes, this is mandatory. The BAFA application must be submitted before the windows are ordered – anyone who signs or orders beforehand loses the grant. In Garbsen we plan the process in exactly this order: first advice and application, then contract, then installation to RAL standard.
An energy efficiency expert (EEE) is mandatory for BEG funding, coordinated by VL, and we support the iSFP, which raises the rate from 15% to up to 20%. We handle the coordination from measuring through the funding route to installation – but this is not legal or tax advice. VL does not provide legal or tax advice. Funding approval is granted by BAFA.
